Gums Rite Fruit is a round candy previously made by Rowntree, which was later acquired by Nestlà © à ©. There are five flavors, each of different colors: strawberry (originally raspberry) orange, lemon, blackcurrant and lime. Sweets were introduced in 1893, and originally marketed as Clear Gums Rowntree - "Sweetest of the nation's favorites" - and available in twopenny tubes and enampenny packages. In addition to traditional rolling packs, they are available in large volume boxes containing candy in the form of fruit or parts of the fruit represented by flavor.

Ingredients
Gums Gums consist primarily of glucose syrup and fruit juice. The content of fruit juice is 25 percent to about 2010 when it is converted to 1 percent concentrated fruit juice. Biscuits like wine gums (other English rolls) contain no juice but some brands do contain plant extracts.
In 2017, NestlÃÆ'à © announced that they will reduce the amount of sugar to 30%.

"Do not Forget The Fruit Gums, Mum"
The advertising campaign for gums that lasted for three years from 1958 to 1961 included the slogan "Do not Forget Gums, Mom". The slogan was created by copywriter Roger Musgrave (1929-2007).
This television commercial featured a boy who reminded his mother to buy gums when she went shopping. The ad claims that "[Fruit Gums] lasts all day" and that "Gummy Rowntree fruits last forever". This refers to the amount of candy in the tube.
