Plot

The novel begins with a short prologue in which Will, on a visit to his eccentric neighbors, learns about protons, microscopic matter particles that, neighbors tell him, are the indestructible building blocks of all matter. Will would wonder if, because he was important, he was also indestructible, the narrative immediately revealed that, for years since then, he had believed it. One day, however, will learn that protons are, in fact, limited and will end. His belief that part of him was indestructible was shaken, and he went to school wondering what it meant now for his life, which until then was safe, secure, and predictable.

The sense of security and security was caused, significantly, on Will's relationship with his friends Mi-Su and BT, with whom he had a regular Saturday night date to play Monopoly and eat pizza. That same sense of security and security was even more shaken when Will realized that he was beginning to have feelings for funny games, teasing Mi Su beyond friendship and, at the same time, a free-spirited hatred, seemed irresponsible. BT, which in many ways is all more polluted, controlled by Will not. Meanwhile, Will's orderly life is also often disturbed by anger seeking attention and tricks his younger brother, Tabby, who is spoiled by his parents and friends, which makes Will disappointed and annoyed.

As Will struggles to decide how to act on both of his growing interest in Mi Su and his increasing anger toward his sister, he is shocked and angry when Tabby tells him that he saw Mi Su and BT kissing. He then composed several detailed and detailed plans on how to make him pay attention to him, the sometimes-successful plan (ie his plan to make him kiss) and sometimes not (his plan to take him to the dance). Both success and failure increase his romantic interest, and at the same time, increase his frustration that interest is not reciprocated as he wishes. Meanwhile, he made preparations for re-entering the chess tournament he won the previous year, but found his effort to practice being distracted by Tabby and his obsessive thoughts about Mi Su.

On the day of the chess tournament, Will is surprised and happy that he did well, but his victory was interrupted by his father's arrival, who told him that Tabby had been badly injured in the accident. At the hospital, Will is confronted by a Tabby scene filled with bruises and bandages, connected to a bank of monitors and medical equipment. She welcomes Mi Su and BT's attempts to comfort her, but only when her mother tells him the shocking truth about Tabby's feelings for her that Will will realize how annoying her sister really cares about her - and how she, in turn, cares about her. As a result of this realization (and others), Will began to unleash the many beliefs, values, and rigidities he had believed about his life, and also began to accept the uncertainty of life. He returns to the hospital, and with Tabby holding his hand when he comes out of his coma.

In an epilogue, the narrative describes the happy Will, willing to participate with Tabby in an event that welcomes him to the new world of school and who, in symbolic language of the narrative, welcomes him in a new way of looking at, and relating to, the World.
