James Albert Varney Jr. born in Lexington, Kentucky. As a child, Varney features the ability to memorize long poems and an important part of the material from books, which he uses to entertain family and friends. When Varney was little, her mother would light a cartoon for her to watch. His mother discovered that Varney quickly began to imitate cartoon characters, so he started her at a children's theater when he was eight years old. Varney began his interest in theater as a teenager, winning the state title in a drama competition while a student at Lafayette High School (class 1968) in Lexington.

At the age of 15, he played Ebenezer Scrooge in a local theater production, and at the age of 17 he performed professionally at nightclubs and coffee shops. Varney studied Shakespeare at the Barter Theater in Abingdon, Virginia and performed at the Opryland folklore in his first year of operation in the 1970s. He listed a former teacher, Thelma Beeler, as a mentor in becoming an actor. When she was twenty-four, Varney was an actor at the Pioneer Playhouse in Danville, Kentucky. The theater is adjacent to the Old West themed village, and before the show, the audience will tour the village where the participants will play the townspeople. Varney and the company usually play in the theater open only for some people only. Varney will entertain the young apprentices by throwing knives into the trees. She appeared on Blinghe Spirit, Boeing 707 and Original Musical, Fire on the Mountain. He once joked threatening a long-haired apprentice, John Lino Ponzini, that he would take him to Hazard, Kentucky where he (Ponzini) would not make it to Main Street without the townspeople giving him a crew.

Careers

Television ad

In 1980, the first commercial featuring Varney as "Ernest" advertised an appearance by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders at Beech Bend Park, an amusement park located near Bowling Green, Kentucky. The characters are franchises for use in markets across the country and are often used by dairies to advertise dairy products. For example, the milk bar and hamburger chain, Braum, contains several advertisements using Ernest's slogan (as spelled with its registered trademark), "KnoWhutImean, Vern?" Purity Dairies, based in Nashville, Pine State Dairy in Raleigh, NC, and Oakhurst Dairy in Maine run almost identical ads, but with the name of dairy products changing.

For the same agency, Varney created a different character, Sgt. Glory, a humorless drill instructor who scoffs cows from dairy clients to produce better milk. Elsewhere, Sergeant. Glory's house was shown when she was dating, which was heavily adorned with a sponsored product and advertising special items that basically had no other decorations. Sergeant The character of glory also appears in an advertisement for the local shopping chain, Pruitt's Food Town, where he drills a cashier employee with the right behavior: "Bread on it Repeat: Bread on it." He approached one of them at the end of the ad with a threatening look and said, "You're not smilin." Bagger cashier gives a very nervous and pushy smile.

Varney also acts as Ernest in a series of ads that run in the New Orleans area (and across the South Bay) as a spokesman for natural gas utilities. In one, he was seen kneeling in front of Vern's table under a lamp hanging from the ceiling, stating, "Natural Gas, Vern: it's hot, fast and cheap. you know, that beautiful !? "Vern then tapped the light on Ernest's head, dropping it. The same television commercial was also featured on the channels in St. Louis for the Laclede Gas Company during the mid-1980s and in the Detroit Metro area for Michigan Consolidated Gas Company. Another TV commercial for Laclede Gas featuring Ernest said, "Heat pumps, air pumps."

Varney also appeared on several Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Stores commercials throughout the 1980s. It's aired on Oklahoma television. He made advertisements for car dealerships across the country, notably Cerritos Auto Square in Cerritos, California, Tysons Toyota at Tysons Corner, Virginia, and Audubon Chrysler in Henderson, Kentucky.

Varney plays Ernest in a series of commercials for Convenient Food Mart during the 1980s. In 1982, Varney held a syndicate of Pop! Goes the Country with singer Tom T. Hall. The show had just undergone a major overhaul and ended shortly after. She also plays "Aunt Nelda", in many ads long before she awakens the characters for the movie. Dressed in drag and appearing to be a senior citizen, the ads give women a motherly tone that encourages someone to do what is right (in this case, buy whatever product is being promoted). This character, along with the character "Ernest", runs for several years in Mississippi and Louisiana in advertisements for Leadco Aluminum Siding.

During the 1990s, Varney modeled his role as Ernest for Blake's Lotaburger, a fast food chain in New Mexico. In this ad, Ernest would usually try to get into Vern's house to see what food Vern was eating. After a long description of anything tasty that Vern does, Ernest will be locked but will continue to shout from the outside.

Ernest Popularity

Varney's character Ernest proved so popular that he was broken into a TV series, Hey Vern, It's Ernest! (1988) and a series of films in the 1980s and 1990s.

Ernest Goes to Camp (1987) was a huge success, grossing $ 23.5 million at the US box office, with a $ 3 million production budget, and staying in Box Office Top 5 for the first three weeks of release. Although the film sees Varney nominated for an out-of-date Razzie Award for Worst New Star, only one year later Varney earned an Emmy Daytime Award for Position Viewer in Children's Series for Hey Vern, It's Ernest!

The canon film Ernest Savesed juga termasuk Ernest Saves Christmas (1988), Ernest Goes to Jail (1990), Ernest Scared Stupid ( 1991) dan Ernest Rides Again (1993). Setelah kegagalan finansial Ernest Rides Again , semua film selanjutnya dirilis langsung ke video: Ernest Goes to School (1994), Slam Dunk Ernest i> (1995), Ernest Goes to Africa (1997) dan Ernest in the Army (1998).

Walt Disney World Resort's Epcot Park features Ernest. The appeal of the Cranium Command of Epcot uses Ernest's character in his pre-show as an example of the "loved, but not the smartest person on this planet" type. And in addition to the Ernest Goes to series, he starred as Ernest in a few small movies for Carden & amp; Cherry, like Knowhutimean? Hi Vern, This My Family Album ; Dr. Otto and Riddle of the Gloom Beam ; and a direct-to-video feature of Your World as I See It , all of which showcase their great facilities by assuming a wide variety of characters and accents.

The Ernest Film Festival (aka Greatest Hits Volume 1) was released on VHS in 1986. Greatest Hits Volume 2 was released in 1992. Mill Creek Entertainment released this classic television commercial on DVD Box sets October 31, 2006. Image Entertainment was re-released on June 5, 2012, as part of the DVD set of Ernest's Wacky Adventures: Volume 1 .

He also plays rebels in the midnight film Existo, as well as an elderly sailor in low-budget horror films, Blood, Friends and Money. During the filming of Treehouse Hostage, he played an escaped convict who was taken hostage and tortured by some 5th graders in a tree house.

One of Varney's last films is Billy Bob Thornton's Daddy and Them, where he plays Uncle Hazel, who was arrested for murder. Co-stars include Kelly Preston and Andy Griffith. Other recent guest appearances are Bibleman Genesis Series Bibleman Jr. Volume 1 & amp; 2 as himself. Varney starred in three videos, The Misadventures of Bubba , The Misadventures of Bubba II , and Bubba Goes Hunting , where she played herself and taught the child young children are important safety rules about hunting and weapons.
