" Together, ", also known as "Let's Get Together", is a song written in the mid-1960's by American songwriters Chet Powers, known as Dino Valenti.
This song is a call for peace and brotherhood, presenting the polarity of love versus fear, and the choice to be made between them. It is best remembered for the fiery pleas on his line of refrein, repeated several times in a row to bring the song to its conclusion.

Record history
The song was originally recorded as "Let's Get Together" by Kingston Trio in live performance in March 1964 which was released on June 1, 1964, on their album Back Back Town. Although not released as a single, this version is the first to bring this song into the public's attention. Kingston Trio often display it directly.
A pre-Byrds David Crosby recorded "Get Together" around the same time as the Trio, but maybe a few weeks later, because the band's arrangements including the riffs of the Beatles version of "Twist and Shout", were released earlier in the UK but not in the United States until April. The Crosby version, perhaps the first studio recording and pre-dating release of the Trio version, appeared many years later on the Preflyte album.
A version of the song first came into the top 40 in 1965, when We Five, produced by Kingston Trio manager Frank Werber, released "Let's Get Together" as a follow-up to their ten hit "You Were on My Mind". Despite not achieving the same level of success as the others, "Let's Get Together" provides the group with a top 40 second hit on Billboard Hot 100 when it reaches number 31. This will be their last hit record.
"Let's Get Together" is the third track on the 2nd side of Jefferson Airplane's first album, Jefferson Airplane Takes Off, released in August 1966. ". He calls "Let's Get Together" a "most sensitive, hopeful and contemporary ballad", and wonders why it's not sung in church. However, the song was not released as a single, although the album made it top 100 from 1966, as the number 97.
In 1967, Youngbloods released their version of the song entitled "Get Together". It became a small Hot 100 hit for them, peaking at number 62 and reaching 37 on the US adult contemporary chart. However, a renewed interest in Youngblood's version came when it was used in the public radio announcement service as a call for fraternity by the Christian and Jewish National Conference. The Youngbloods version, most remembered today, was re-released in 1969, peaking at number 5 on Billboard Hot 100.
