" Ducky Tie " is the third episode of the seventh season of the CBS sitcom's How I Met Your Mother and the 139th episode as a whole. It aired on September 26, 2011.

Plot
Marshall has obtained a blue tie with a yellow-duck pattern, which Barney hates because he finds his design uncharacteristic. Now that Lily was pregnant, her breasts had grown, so Barney wanted to see them; Lily and Marshall refused. The group decided to go to "Shinjitsu", an teppanyaki restaurant, for dinner, where Barney insulted his cooking style, claiming that he could do so easily all the techniques that a chef can do. Marshall becomes angry and challenges Barney to do all the techniques, with permission to touch Lily's breasts if he succeeds. If Barney fails, she should wear a duck tie for a year.
Barney fantasized Marshall and Lily during dinner with the suggestion that he was adept at cooking as he claimed and had gone to the effort to take a Shinjitsu training course. When he offers to cancel the bet if he is allowed to see Lily's breasts for 30 seconds in the alley, they accept until Marshall realizes that Barney has conditioned Marshall to associate Barney's sneeze with the desire to go to "Shinjitsu" as part of a future scheme to use Marshall if Barney wants anything from him. Lily and Marshall are convinced they have won a bet until after dinner, when Barney easily executes all but one of the cooking techniques. In desperation, Lily pulls on her shirt and reflects her breasts into Barney, which distracts and prevents her from succeeding in the final cooking technique. When the group returned to MacLaren's, Barney reluctantly started wearing a ducky tie.
Meanwhile, during dinner, Ted tells the story of what happened when he met Victoria again at Ball Architect in "The Naked Truth". Ted made a long-awaited apology for the affair, which Victoria accepted, saying he was no longer angry. However, he is surprised to learn that Ted does not feel strange that he, Robin and Barney hang out every night, despite the fact that the two men dated and broke up with Robin. When Ted offers to help Victoria do the dishes at her bakery, she learns that she will be engaged to Klaus, a German classmate. She gets angry when she finds out that she's been with him a day and a half after she and Ted broke up, meaning that she spent years feeling guilty about kissing Robin when Victoria was planning on leaving him for Klaus. They finally quarreled, but began to relive their time together after Ted revealed that he was very sorry to have cheated him and they loved each other; they end up sharing a kiss.
Despite the kiss, Victoria realizes that she wants to be with Klaus and goes to meet him for a trip in the Hamptons. Though he concluded the story there with his friends, Future Ted revealed that he had asked Victoria what he imagined their lives would be like if they lived together. Victoria has replied that Ted's relationship over the past six years has failed because of Robin, telling him that he is the lion's share of his life than he realizes and warns him that the current friendship he shares with Robin and Barney does not work. Although Ted did not believe in Victoria at the time, Future Ted revealed that he was right.
