Megan Mylan (born 1969) is an American documentary director, known for his film Lost Boys of Sudan and Academy Award 2008 winner Smile Pinki.

Mylan was born in California and grew up in Salem, Oregon and Dallas, Texas, where she graduated from Highland Park High School. He holds a bachelor's degree from Georgetown Foreign Service College, and a master's degree in journalism and Latin American studies from the University of California, Berkeley. He worked for Ashoka in Brazil before deciding to pursue the filming of the documentary.

In 2003, Mylan and Jon Shenk directed Lost Boys of Sudan , a long documentary about two Dinka boys who escaped from Sudan's civil war to the United States. The film won an Independent Spirit Award and through theatrical broadcasts, PBS broadcasts and extensive social action campaigns raised millions of dollars for refugee scholarships.

In 2008, Mylan directed Smile Pinki a film on an attempt to provide cleft palate clearance operations in India. He focuses on the work of the Smile Train program in Varanasi, India. The film won an Academy Award 2008 for Best Documentary (Short Subject).

Mylan is currently working on a film about the struggle for racial equality in Brazil.
