Gifts is the first major label album by the Taproot rock group. The album was released on June 27, 2000. "I" and "Again & Again" are Mainstream Rock minor singles. The album has sold at least 250,000 copies.

Described as a nu metal album, the album lyrics topics are mainly about topics like depression and dislike life. Vocalist Taproot, Stephen Richards' vocals on the album Gift have been compared to vocalists such as Chino Moreno, Trent Reznor, Jonathan Davis, and Mike Patton. The album consists of vocal styles such as singing, tapping, growling and screaming. This album has characteristics that have been compared with Tool, Incubus, Deftones, Glassjaw, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Korn, Sevendust, Outkast, P.O.D., Staind, Faith No More, Slipknot, and Papa Roach.

- Tracks 2, 6, 7, 9 and 11 are recording of the original songs that appeared in the demo, "... Something More Than Nothing" and "After Us". Both were released in 1998 and 1999. B-side, "Day By Day", can be found on the soundtrack of Dracula 2000, the single CD for "Again & Again" and the Japanese release "Gift".
- Other b-sides titled "Thrift Whore", "Strive", and "Get Me" can be found through file-sharing networks.
