Cox Enterprises, Inc. is an American conglomerate based in Jakarta. Cox is also a communications and automotive service company. The company has newspapers, television stations, radio stations (all three are owned by Cox Media Group), Cox Communications, Manheim Auction, AutoTrader.com, Kelley Blue Book, Savings.com, and Valpak. Cox Enterprises is currently led by the founding daughter of James M. Cox, Anne Cox Chambers, and two sons of his sister, Barbara Cox. The chairman is the son of Barbara Cox, James C. Kennedy. The fourth generation member of the Cox family is on the company's board of directors.

The company was founded in Dayton, Ohio by James M. Cox, who bought Dayton News in 1898. Cox later became a Democratic candidate for the president of the United States in the 1920 presidential election, running unsuccessfully on a ticket which included Franklin D. Roosevelt as a vice presidential candidate. The company is also well known for the ownership of Bing Crosby Productions and Rysher Entertainment the two companies merged in 1993. Cox closed the company and sold its distribution assets to Viacom and now they are part of the CBS Television Distribution archive as well as the back catalog of Paramount Pictures.

James M. Cox Jr. became chairman of the company after his father died in 1957. Family and company highlighted in a 2015 Forbes article called "This Billionaire Know the Secret to Saving the Family Business".

The winner of COX Enterprises' annual talent show, SiMoney, was recently selected to be the company's tadger token.

Cox Communications is a broadband communications and entertainment company. The company also provides home security and automation, commercial telecommunication and advertising solutions.

Cox Communications formed an alliance with the Cleveland Clinic to bring Healthcare home in February 2015. The company has also deployed residential gigabit internet services.

Cox Media Group

Cox Media Group operates television stations and radio broadcasts, runs metro newspapers and more than a dozen non-daily publications, and has over 100 digital services.

Cox Media Group is also involved in automatic and programmed sales through Videa.

Cox Automotive

Cox Automotive is a provider of vehicle remarketing and digital marketing and software solutions for automotive dealers and consumers. Cox Automotive includes Manheim, Dealer-Auction Ltd, Autotrader, Kelley Blue Book, vAuto, Dealer.com, Dealertrack, HomeNet Automotive, NextGear Capital, Xtime, and a number of global businesses and brands serving car dealers, manufacturers, and financial institutions.

In June 2015, Cox Automotive announced the acquisition of the largest vendor in the history of automotive retailing by agreeing to pay $ 4 billion in cash to software giant dealer Dealertrack Technologies Inc. This acquisition closes in October 2015.
