The Eat 'Em and Smile Tour is a North American concert tour by hard rock singer David Lee Roth. This is his first tour since leaving Van Halen in 1985, and is the only tour featuring Roth lineup, Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, and Gregg Bissonette (as well as tourist keyboard Brett Tuggle).

Overview

With the success of Eat 'Em and Smile album in North America, an extensive tour began. The setlist is almost evenly split between Van Halen classics ("Unchained", "Panama", "Jump", etc.) and Roth solo hit ("California Girls", "Yankee Rose", "Goin 'Crazy", etc.). Like Van Halen's last tour, Roth once again entered a trademark concert where he sang a song ("Is not Talkin '' Bout Love") from a mini stage in the middle of the show at every performance, while the rest of the band continue to perform on the main stage. Other concert highlights are long guitar and bass "battle" solos (often lasting more than ten minutes), which saw Vai and Sheehan try to beat each other on their respective instruments. No professional recorded or recorded video or audio recordings were ever released from this tour, but the huge stage sets can be seen in the "Yankee Rose" video show. The opening act on this tour includes Cinderella and Tesla at various points.

The photoshoot was done on February 17, 1987 in Lakeland, Florida.
