Britax ( ) is a global manufacturer of child care products including car seats, strollers and high chairs.

History
It started making automotive safety equipment and accessories in 1938, and for importing car and motorcycle accessories. During the 1970s, Britax began to make child care safety products, especially child safety chairs and strollers.
Excelsior Motor Company
Excelsior Motor Company, a former motorcycle company, bought Britax Group for £ 880,000 in March 1963. It diversified into the interior of the plane and seat, car mirror and car seat. Its main competitor in the 1960s was Irvin Air Chute, who was the leading British manufacturer and designer parachute.
In 1960, BSI introduced BS 3254 gliders for car seats, and Britax was one of the first to meet the standards. In 1960, one of their safety belts saved Donald Campbell when he fell at a speed of 400 mph. The belt is made of Terylene (now known as PET) made by ICI. Also in 1960, the company bought a Cyclemaster motorcycle in Byfleet.
