Alfred Lin is an American venture capitalist at Sequoia Capital. Lin is COO, CFO, and Chairman of Zappos.com until 2010.

Lin holds the B.A. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard and M.S. in Statistics from Stanford. While at Harvard, Lin meets Tony Hsieh, future CEO of Zappos. Hsieh first recognized Lin's business acumen while running a student-owned pizza room at Harvard. Lin, his best customer, buys whole pizza, divides it into wedges, and sells it for profit. In 1996, Lin quit the Ph.D. program at Stanford to join Hsieh at LinkExchange as CFO. 18 months later, LinkExchange was sold to Microsoft for $ 265 million. Then, before joining Zappos, Lin was VP of Business Development and Learning Tellme Networks (MSFT). Along with Tony Hsieh he also founded Venture Frogs, an incubator and investment company. From 2005 to 2010 Lin is an integral part of Zappos, taking on the role of Chairman, COO, and CFO.
